Pilgrim Cove Homeowners Association

The Pilgrim Cove Homeowners Association serves the common interest of homeowners on and around Payette Lake’s Pilgrim Cove in McCall, ID. Homeowner dues help to maintain the community beach, boat ramp, docks, and road maintenance.

Common Area Improvements Fall 2023

Ben Gau the owner of McCall Dirt Works and his team have now completed the project outlined in my first message regarding this effort.  We received the approval from the Idaho Department of Lands to do work in the lake bed below high water in early November.  By the time we had that approval Ben had largely been able to complete all of the planned expansion and improvement work for the then existing common beach area.  With the approval Ben was able to quickly move forward with the removal of the basalt rocks and boulders above and below high water that populated the area from the east side of dock 4 all the way to the Pilgrim Cove Church Camp.  As I previously reported these materials were donated to the Association by the State of Idaho as part of its support for our effort to build a rock retaining wall with appropriate filter cloth to help prevent erosion and to stabilize the lake shore.

Virtually all of the rock near the shore has now been removed including the numerous navigation hazards near the ends of both docks 4 and 5 and relocated into the new riprap wall.  The numerous dead trees have also been removed from the water and shore and sand has been added to create a significant amount of new beach area.  Some of this new beach will not be usable year-round because of high water but will be available for resident use during a significant portion of the summer and fall.
